About us

Our Charitable Trust exists in fond memory of Akanesi (Nesi) Mataitonga – a loving and generous soul, who believed in providing a bright future for children, her own and those of others. Nesi believed in always giving and sharing with others, and helping people in need. Nesi didn’t have much but what she did have she would gladly give away to someone who needed it more.

Our work is driven by a passionate belief that all children and young people deserve to be raised and educated in a safe and equitable environment.

Our mission is to promote the social, emotional and educational development of children and young people, and to safeguard the wellbeing of children and young people in school and the community.

We develop partnerships with individuals, communities and organizations, and working alongside people who live in project areas wherever possible, we try to embed long-term sustainable solutions. We also provide support in times of crises.

The Akanesi Mataitonga Trust provides essential financial and material assistance, principally through education, healthcare and the local community. This is done through fundraising, donations and working in collaboration with others to make it happen.
