OTA Disability School

In 2017/2018 the Akanesi Mataitonga Trust helped the OTA Centre in Nuku’alofa (Ofa Tui Amanaki meaning Love, Faith & Hope) which is a school that cares for children and young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. This project saw our Trustee Frazer walking 1000km around the four main islands of Tonga – Tongatapu, ‘Eua, Ha’apai and Vava’u. The funds raised from Frazer’s sponsored walk enabled us to build the centre a specially adapted playground that the OTA students can use safely and also donated a 40ft container filled with food, furniture and learning materials, teacher aids, school uniforms, shoes and school bags, mobility aids, kitchen supplies and more!
